Does water have a memory? Consciousness? What are the “watershed moments” that define the health of the Earth’s waters?
This ongoing series uses cameraless photographic processes to create images that focus on bodies of water, ecological systems and human-impacted changes over time. Lake water, plant life, chemicals, plastic, and other found objects from the surrounding landscape and common pollutants are placed directly on 4x5 inch color or black and white film. The film is then left to expose outdoors in the sun or submerged in water over hours or days. The effects of time, light, water and environment from the place where the exposure is made are embedded into each negative.
